You may only need a one off session giving you an exercise programme that you can carry out independently. People rarely need more than 8 sessions.
No. We are trained to perform our own musculosekeletal assessments. If we are concerned about any particular issue we can, with your permission liaise with your doctor.
However, insurance companies do sometimes require a doctors referral if you are going to claim treatment fees. Many insurance companies now offer a telephone triage service to authorise treatment. You need to check your individual policy.
Usually, yes. A 45 minute appointment allows for a discussion about you and your presenting problem, a physical examination, a discussion around treatment options, treatment plan and the goals you want to achieve. Initial treatment is started and self help exercises/advice is given.
MkV Physiotherapy Clinic staffed by very experienced physiotherapists, we are therefore able to treat most musculoskeletal problems. We have our own specialities and will suggest passing you over to a colleague if we feel you would benefit more from their particular expertise.
If we do not feel you will gain benefit from treatment we will be honest with you and give you advice on what you should do next.
