“I qualified in 1989 at the Bath School of Physiotherapy with a graduate diploma in physiotherapy. I worked for 2 years at Poole General Hospital gaining general basic experience before moving to the Swindon area where I have since progressively specialised in musculosketal medicine.

Since 1999 I have worked at PMH / Great Western hospital as a Clinical Physiotherapy Specialist in spines. I was involved in the setting up and running of Physiotherapy Spinal Orthopaedic clinics working along side Consultant Spinal Surgeons. Here I have an extended role requesting MRI scans, performing injections and attending Multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases. I also have experience working in ED and Rheumatology clinics.

I trained as a dancer to a semi professional level and therefore have a special interest in treating dancers/ gymnasts.

I have been in private practice since 1994 and continue to combine my private and NHS work. I feel this allows me to remain up to date with current research / medical trends, maintain close working relationships with medical and physiotherapy colleagues and yet continue with the aspect of physiotherapy I love most – ‘hands on treatment’ ! I have run local courses teaching manual therapy and sacroiliac joint management to Physiotherapy colleagues, always keen to share my passion for this work.”

ELINOR ANDERSON: ASSOCIATE

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

MCSP, BSc (Biological Sciences), BSc. Physiotherapy, HCPC registered, Diplomate of the Cyriax Organisation.

Specialisms: general musculoskeletal, cranial sacral therapy

“I qualified with a BSc(distinction) in Physiotherapy from the Queen’s College, Glasgow subsequent to achieving a BSc in Biological Sciences from Edinburgh University. After three years working as a physiotherapist in the NHS at Glasgow Royal Infirmary I started specialising in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. I held senior positions in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, Singapore General Hospital and then in an Occupational Medicine clinic with Kaiser Permanente which is one of the largest health maintenance organisations in the USA.

I firmly believe that with over seven years working as a physiotherapist in Asia and then the USA I diversified my experience it shaped the therapist I am today.

On my return to the UK I have been working part-time in the private sector which has enabled me to create a healthy work/life balance. I am passionate about staying active and I am a keen road cyclist and love walking.

I am a good listener and utilise a range of manual techniques such joint mobilisation, soft tissue release, cranial sacral therapy.  I enjoy working with all age groups and types of problems from sports enthusiasts to the elderly who want to stay fit as long as possible”.
